First Annual Family Retreat/Camp Out!

What a fabulous weekend retreat!

We couldn't have asked for a better time!  It was the perfect balance between fun and education.  About 15 families came together to enjoy a weekend of great fellowship, outdoor activities and communication building within the family unit.

The August heat gave us a break as we played in the sun and water and slept 14 in open air cabins with a cool summer breeze blowing across the moonlit lake.  Our praise and worship voices filled the camp site and our family communication skills were honed during the many meetings in an air conditioned meeting room throughout the weekend.  Five great meals were served in the camp cafeteria.  Two more of our youth displayed their faith by being baptized in the lake.  We were able to enjoy a closeness to God and to each other both as an immediate family and church family during our stay.

And finally, needless to say, the blob was an enormous hit to young and old alike!  Take a look at a few snapshots taken...click on them to see a larger format.

This retreat was designed to bring parents and kids together to explore a Christlike model for family relationships, improve family relationships, develop stronger relational skills, and strengthen families with a fun and memorable weekend!  I'd say we definitely accomplished this goal!
