Summer 2002What a great summer! Our youth group grew in numbers and closeness! We had a great time doing great things! The wildest was the Leader Hunt, the coolest was the Family Camp Out and the most meaningful was the Summer Mission Trip. Jaws 2 Pool PartyYes, another awesome adventure for our youth! A pool party with all the usual stuff -- pizza, soda, hot tub, pool + some basketball for those interested. Then, about time it got dark, we all loaded into the pool to watch Jaws 2 in the water in the dark! And it did get a little creepy! It doesn't matter how many times you've seen Jaws 2--it just not quite the same as watching it from a dark pool!
Sorry we don't have pictures from this great evening--we didn't have our camera! You can check last year's Jaws Pool Party for a trip down memory lane!
Urban Mission Project! This project was in our own back yard of the Church! We're getting our disc golf course ready for action by cutting down small trees, clearing some bushes, mowing and eventually installing the disc cages! We had Coach Alan and Stephen behind the chain saws and Rev Mac on the bushwhacker while several of us hauled off the debris left in their paths! We cleared the way for one hole in the disc golf course but Rev Mac says it was the worst hole to deal with! Nice to have that one behind us! There's more work to be done, more water to keep us cool and more pizza to be consumed! Stay posted for our next work day! The Amazing Race! Our students drove all over searching for clues hidden all over the place to find a fellow student that had been kidnapped! We had 5 cars driven by our own great chaperones! It's a good thing the chaperones knew where they were going because the clues were hard!
We all wound up at Gatti Town, rescued our kidnapped students and had a great time with pizza and arcades.
Six Flags/Hurricane Harbor! Titan -
22 of us boarded the Great White for a 2 day trip to Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor in Dallas! We had a blast riding the rides we wanted and not what little brother or sister wanted! We had a great time at both parks and even caught a movie Saturday afternoon! We stayed overnight in the Holiday Inn--Arlington, right next to the theme park. We rolled in pretty tired at 11:00pm Saturday night!
